Russian cast-off

From KnitWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

This Cast off technique involves repeated Decreases, and creates a nice stretchy edge, which is good for Toe-Up Socks, or any other object where a stretchy finish is necessary. The process is as follows:

  1. Knit two together or Purl two together
  2. Transfer the newly formed stitch back to the left needle
  3. Repeat from step 1, incorporating the newly formed stitch into the next decrease.
